Fire Door Safety Week takes place from 21-27 September 2020; it’s a national campaign to raise public awareness of the vital purpose fire doors serve in protecting lives and property by delaying the spread of fire and smoke.
FIRAS is a voluntary, third-party certification scheme for installation contractors of both passive and active fire protection systems, accredited to BS EN ISO/IEC 17065:2012.
For many years, MJ Hillson has held FIRAS accreditation for the installation of timber fire doors. We’re proud to announce that we are now also FIRAS-accredited for the installation of steel fire doors. FIRAS contractors are audited annually and sites are regularly inspected in order to ensure that the highest, safest standards of installation are maintained.
Fire Door Safety Week explains to the public the purpose of a fire door and encourages reporting of faulty fire doors in shared buildings (accommodation, workplaces etc).
Fire protection is a key element of MJ Hillson’s commitment to site safety and quality workmanship, and we’re really pleased to have had our endeavours recognised by the accredited certification body.
