New Recruits -Take the Floor

Our customers have always been able to rely on MJ Hillson high standards in carpentry, joinery and fit-out services. Now we’ve enhanced our specialist flooring portfolio too, with two highly skilled flooring experts joining the company to establish a brand-new in-house team.

Daniel Sibley and Martin Smith are spearheading the MJH expansion into resilient and soft flooring. The pair have decades of experience in estimating and quantity surveying in the field of specialist flooring, and between them have worked on projects ranging from hospitals to Ministry of Defence premises to residential buildings… and even Terminal 2A at Heathrow Airport.

Creating a specialist in-house flooring team means MJ Hillson are now able to offer an even wider range of flooring services, including engineered wood flooring, LVT (luxury vinyl tile), rubber, vinyl, linoleum, carpet and carpet tiles. In addition, MJ Hillson can now undertake sub-floor preparation works and supply and install entrance matting systems, along with aftercare and maintenance services.

Daniel and Martin are working with a range of manufacturers – sourcing directly, therefore reducing costs and providing better sustainability credentials. Their specialist flooring providers include Havwoods, Ted Todd, Milliken, Interface, Forbo, Altro, Gerflor, Polyflor, Amtico, Karndean, Heckmondwike, Gradus, Tarkett and Junckers.

Daniel and Martin are looking forward to the challenges of their new roles and are already hard at work securing new contracts, pricing up project packages and connecting with contacts.

“It’s an exciting challenge to start afresh,” Daniel says, “and there’s plenty of opportunities in the marketplace for it.”

“We have a blank, Canvas” adds Martin, “so we’re touching base and reaching out to all of our historical contacts, clients, friends and customers.”

When he’s not at work, you’ll find Martin Riding around on one of his collection of classic motorbikes, while Dan loves to go running. The pair have worked together before. With this new team,   we suppose you could say: “The boys are back in town.”
