The Brief

Acacia Road was a little out of the ordinary for us in that it was an individual residence. Hillson normally work on large developments or commercial projects. A team of six spent six months on site with contractor Chalgrove. This high-spec house was rebuilt into a four-floor luxury single dwelling, including a basement, pool and gym area, dormer windows and a home cinema.

The Approach

The project manager, QS and four carpenters supplied and installed all the joinery. This included bespoke walnut doors in the living and leisure areas. It also included sliding doors in the basement and plinth boxes featuring architrave all the way up. The trickiest part of the project for us was getting all the design work signed off because this was such a high-specification house. It was very different to what we normally do. We always strive for high standards, whatever we do!
