Swords Signs Off

After 49 years working for MJ Hillson the much loved and respected Supervisor Robert Swords has decided to hang up the hard-hat and hi-vis. From Westoning and the log cabins in 1975 to Whiteleys in 2024 and a plethora of other projects in between Bob has been ever present for MJ Hillson for the last 49 years. Most recently Bob has been working as a project supervisor on the Whiteleys re-development project for Laing O’Rourke. Bob had a massive impact on MJH and the local community with his training of apprentices throughout the years, not just as successful carpenters but as all round good people. Bob in fact trained two of our group directors in Mark Hillson and Tony Wren who shared fond memories of the time and experiences they had serving their apprenticeships under Bobs guidance, to the team.

Group Chairman Michael Hillson commented “We feel that it is important to put into words our heartfelt thanks for the hard work and superb performance that you have given this firm during the past 49 years. Retirement has never been more deserved. Your contributions to our team have been invaluable, and your positive impact will be felt long after your retirement. Your commitment and expertise have been a true asset to our organisation and have allowed us to achieve our reputation for excellence. We are truly grateful for all that you have done”.

Bob himself summed up his time with MJ Hillson in a few simple words “It’s been a pleasure”

All at MJH wish Bob a very happy and extremely deserved retirement and wish him all the best.
